What is the difference between dialling a number and sharing a link?
Dialling a phone number reaches any regular phone, ideal when the other person has no smartphone or unreliable internet. The browser link runs over the internet and gives both sides a live transcript on screen. Pick whichever suits the person you are calling.
Does the other person need an account or an app?
No. If you dial their phone number they just pick up like any other call. If you share a link they open it in any browser, which asks permission for the microphone and the call starts. Either way there is nothing to install and no account to create.
How long can a call last?
As long as your plan supports. Calls draw from your usage credit just like any other mode. Calls to a real phone number are billed per minute at a rate that depends on the destination country, shown before you dial; Unlimited plans include a monthly phone-call budget.
Is the call recorded?
Calls are kept by default so you can scroll back through transcripts and audio later from your account. If you would rather they were not, paid plans let you switch storage off in your privacy settings and conversations are wiped within minutes of ending.
